Beauticians glow at glitzy ceremony
The D'Marie Institute marked the graduation of 56 students in various aspects of beauty culture recently.
The graduates showed off their expertise in hair and make-up and other aspects of skincare and grooming on stage in resplendent designs, some reflecting a Halloween theme, which excited the packed ballroom.
Guest speaker Duane Lue-Fung told the graduates to dig deep within their consciousness to achieve success.
"You never have to depend on anyone to survive ... It is your duty to succeed, but you have to develop the appetite to succeed and commit to your success by constantly updating yourself with the trends and directions within your industry so that you achieve mastery," said Lue-Fung.
He also urged the graduates to develop a "spirit of legacy", by ensuring that they left something behind for future generations, noting that this spirit needed to be rekindled in Jamaica.
The D'Marie Institute is widely regarded as the leading school of cosmetology in Jamaica.
