Ska, rocksteady to take centre stage at music festival

The One World Ska & Rocksteady Music Festival, which is being held for the first time, will be streamed live as a pay- per-view event globally via on November 26.

Starting at 3 p.m., it promises more than 12 hours of quality ska and rocksteady music at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre in St Andrew with classic Jamaican acts alongside top international ska bands. The public will be able to access the live stream at the early bird rate of US$9.89 (J$1,290) or US$11.99 (J$1,550) on the day.

Festival organisers Sounds and Pressure Foundation Limited are taking ska and rocksteady, the parent art form of reggae and dancehall, for a day and night affair that will feature acts such as Stranger Cole, Marcia Griffiths, The Skatalites, BB Seaton and The Gaylads, Toots Hibbert, Leroy Sibbles, Derrick Morgan, and the Soweto Ska Band from Spain.

The show will be a partnership between the RJR Communications Group and Sounds and Pressure Foundation. is the RJR Communications Group's latest media portal that offers globally a state-of-the-art pay-per-view streaming service as well as live streaming of all the electronic media brands from the group's various radio and TV stations.
