Highly anticipated EDM event, Major Lazer and Friends, is all set for its December 16 staging at the Mas Camp.

Since its inception five years ago and debut at the University of the West Indies Mona campus, the event has grown exponentially, and this year, organisers are expecting a record crowd.

Event promoter Kamal Bankay is giving his assurance that they are in for a memorable and high-energy event.

"The production will be even bigger than last year, doubling the intensity. We have amazing performances planned and an incredible light and sound show," Bankay said.

Walshy Fire of Major Lazer echoed similar sentiments.

"The year is almost at an end. What better way to close out 2016 than with an electrifying concert with some of Jamaica's best in the entertainment industry? My advice to everyone is just come out and let's have a grand time," he said.

"This is really an exciting time for Major Lazer; this is the fifth consecutive year that we're bringing back the concert where it originally started. It feels amazing, and we're truly excited and blessed and every positive word that you can think of," he added.

Walshy that Fire noted that they have new songs with Nicki Minaj, PartyNextDoor and other artistes. He said Major Lazer has also been working on new music over the past couple months.

"So there's a likely chance we'll debut some of it here in Jamaica," Walshy Fire added.

Plans are afoot to host thousands of EDM lovers for non-stop partying and crazy vibes. The team is in the final preparatory stages to get everything ready for the event.

"I'm excited for what's to come, and we have a couple surprises up our sleeves. I'm 100 per cent confident that everyone will have an amazing time. Security is in place, food and beverages are ready, production is set, and we're just anxiously waiting for December 16," Bankay ended.
