Popcaan and Magnum kick off 2017 at Sabina Park
Newly minted MOBO award winner Popcaan and Magnum Tonic Wine, will start 2017 celebrating dancehall on Saturday January 7.
Magnum Tonic Wine and Dream Entertainment will 'tek charge' of Sabina Park with Magnum Live.
The line-up also includes Capleton, Spice and Beenie Man, alongside Jahmeil, Masicka and the Magnum King and Queen of Dancehall Accid and Clymaxx, all backed by Ruff Kutt band.
"The Magnum Tonic Wine brand is the authentic Dancehall drink of choice. In solidarity with a culture that continues to attract adoring fans worldwide and pave a way for other Jamaican brands, we are celebrating what is great about Dancehall to kick start 2017," said Tamika West, marketing manager, J Wray and Nephew Ltd.
Popcaan has been enjoying a successful 2016, which includes major international exposure and collaborations such as being featured on the OVO Jordan ad campaign.
The 'unruly boss' has also had collaborations including 'I Know There's Gonna Be (Good Times)' with Jamie XX featuring Yung Thug and 'Should've Been Me' by Naughty Boy featuring Kyla.
Popcaan was also sampled Too Good, a track that featured Rihanna, from Drake's 'Views' album which is now nominated for Album of the year for the 2017 Grammy Awards.
Other artistes that will be performing on the Magnum Dream Live show have also had major impacts in 2016.
Capleton had his hit song 'Forward Inna Them Clothes' featured on the official trailer for the highly anticipated 'Assassin's Creed' movie, slated to be released in the US on December 21.
Dream Entertainment hopes the event will help re-energise the entertainment landscape in Jamaica.
