Chris DeMontague wows with 'Couldn't Believe'
Reggae singer Chris DeMontague recently wowed a large audience at a recent Mello FM roadshow in Junction, St Elizabeth, with a marquee performance that showed the full range of his incredible vocal skills.
He started off his set with Missing You, which got numerous 'forwards', before segueing into Otis Redding's I've Been Loving You Too Long, which elicited screams of approval from the women in the audience. He then got a huge roar when he did Couldn't Believe, and he was forced to do the song a second time.
Based on the response from patrons at the show and disc jocks who have heard the song, DeMontague thinks that Couldn't Believe, which was released several months ago, has finally broke through into mainstream radio.
"The fans have really responded well to Couldn't Believe. The song is getting some excellent spins on the radio. The song plays every day on HITZ, IRIE, Mello and SunCity Radio. Big up to Ron Muschette and GT Taylor, who were the first disc jockeys to play my songs in Jamaica," he said.
Meanwhile, DeMontague is booked to perform at the GT Taylor Xtravaganza show on Boxing Day.
He is also working on his debut album and is eyeing a January release date.
