Currenci sees growth in career
Since he emerged on the music scene five years ago, dancehall artiste Currenci has experienced growth in his lyrical output.
His latest recordings, Dancehall Maradona and So High, are testament to his maturity.
Dancehall Maradona is produced by Dark City Productions, while So High is produced by Rory Henry's Hustle Voice Records.
But pursuing a career in music was inevitable for the lanky deejay as his father is Gary Snypes, a well-known singer from St Mary.
"I grew up in a musical household, so it was only a matter of time that my interest in music would move to a professional level," Currenci said.
Currenci has recorded for producers like Seanizzle and Solid Empire Productions, a UK-based production entity.
Born Demoy Forbes, Currenci released his first single, Gyal Wine, in 2012. His other recordings include Raving Every Day, Money and Things and Nuh Born See Riches.
Dark City Productions is a joint venture between Currenci and his business partner, Shallema Gardener. His debut EP is expected to be released on that imprint over the next few months.
