Victorious Music recording artiste Notorious JA plans to make a significant impact on the dancehall scene in 2017.

The tough-talking deejay, who is often compared to Bounty Killer because of his no-nonsense lyrical style, enjoyed a good run last year with the release of songs such as One Bag a Witch a War, a Mavado diss track, and Can't Stop Me.

Working overtime

"I made a lot of progress last year, and dancehall fans all over the world are paying attention to my music. Right now, I'm working overtime to take my career to the next level. 2017 is going to be my breakout year," said Notorious JA.

The Florida-based deejay, who is originally from Clarendon, planned to top off 2016 with a performance at Sting. However, this did not materialise as the prestigious dancehall event was cancelled.

Deeply disappointed

"I was booked to perform at Sting, and I was really looking forward to it. I'm deeply disappointed that it was cancelled, and I am sure a lot of other artistes feel the same way. I don't understand why the industry has allowed this to happen. Sting is one of the cornerstone events of dancehall music. We shouldn't allow it to die," he said.

Notorious JA recently completed a series of shows in Florida. He is also booked for several upcoming events in other states.

In addition, he is currently busy in the studios working on his debut EP which scheduled to be released this summer.
