Cymbhal just wants to be heard

January 20, 2017

Emerging recording artiste, Cymbhal, is about to release two new singles that he hopes will push him closer to the limelight.

However, he laments the challenges he faces while trying to make a name for himself.

"'Struggles' is a song about the struggles people face in terms of relationships and life in general. How Mi Fi Dweet is kind of an old school, bringing back the old school to dancehall because dancehall music has been changing," he said, opining that today's dancehall is like R&B.

But even as he prepares to release new music, the budding entertainer reveals a challenge that many young artistes face. "It is difficult to get songs played. Disc jockeys and selectors won't play your music unless you pay them," he said, while also lamenting the 'money pull up' culture.

Cymbhal, born Peter Matthews, officially launched his music career in 2015 with the release of Missing You.
