Veteran singer George Nooks has had multiple success on the New York reggae charts over the years.

His most recent hit, Ride Out Your Storm, which spent six weeks at number one, was recently named the Song of the Year.

The song joined a list of other singles from him that topped the chart, including God is Standing By, Bridge Over Troubled Water, and Broken Vessel. Nooks said he was elated.

"It's a very good feeling and I appreciate the support the song received from the fans and the media alike," said an upbeat Nooks.

Nooks has been enjoying chart success since the 1970s under the moniker Prince Mohammed. In the 1990s, after a brief hiatus he scored big with So Much in Love, I Don't Care and Real Man, among others.
