Dancehall artiste Kasanova has clarified statements made by fellow dancehall artiste Macka Diamond, who claimed the young artiste crossed the line by making sexual advances at her during their recent video shoot for the song ‘Bun Fi Bun’.
According to Kasanova, persons have drawn the assumption that he was disrespectful to Macka, who is more than 10 years his senior.
“I just firstly want to say that I am grateful to Macka Diamond for giving me a chance to collaborate with her. She is an icon in the business, and not everybody is willing to give young artistes a chance,” he said.
“As it relates to what transpired at the video shoot, to me, it’s a normal thing when a man sees a woman in certain compromising positions and he is turned on by what he likes. The video was steamy and Macka did some things that pulled my attention, and I reacted by letting her know that I wanted sexual relations with her. I did not touch her inappropriately, so it’s not like I violated her. I just want her to know that, as a big woman, she look good and I wanted to celebrate that with her the way humans do.”
In a recent interview with THE STAR, Macka Diamond dismissed the idea of dating Kasanova or other artistes within the industry. This was disclosed following the circulation of voice notes with Kasanova stating that he wanted to get intimate with the female deejay.
“I was a bit uncomfortable because he is somebody I was building a friendship with, and I don’t wanna mix music with pleasure. I put him in his place little bit, but not that hard.” The veteran said.
NO HARD FEELINGS
Now that the matter has been settled, Kasanova pointed out that Macka Diamond was not angry with him, unlike some viewers who caught wind of her comments in THE STAR. He claims persons have messaged him on social media to point out that his actions are unacceptable.
“All she was trying to say was that she preferred to have me as a friend and not a sexual partner, but some people act like I was disrespectful. Get this straight, I never disrespect women, and me and Macka good same way,” he said.
“The issue some people have is because she is older than me. But at the end of the day, we are both adults. So, telling her I want to sex her is just grown-up people thing. If I was a schoolboy putting sex to a big woman, then you could say I am rude. But yuh can’t say big man rude because he likes a next adult.”
Bun Fi Bun was produced by Touchah Gold/DJLux records and is distributed digitally by 21st Hapilos.
