Lady Ali anxious about performing alongside Sizzla
Known for her hard-core rude girl lyrics and her aggressive onstage persona, Hitmatic Records recording artiste Lady Ali is looking forward to performing on the Thank You Mama Mother's Day concert alongside Sizzla at Club Amazura on May 12.
"The buzz on the show is great here in New York. I did a video ad for the event and put in on my Facebook page, and it got thousands of views. My fan base is looking forward to seeing me on that show," she said.
Lady Ali is getting a lot of props stateside and in Jamaica for her latest single, Heartbroken (Bun Mi), on the Hitmatic Records label.
The song, which addresses the pain of infidelity from a female perspective, has been bombing FM radio into submission over the past week. Disc jocks have fallen in love with the crisp, clear vocals of lady Ali and her cutting-edge delivery, which is a cross between Sophia George and Queen Ifrica.
"The response has been phenomenal so far. I have got a lot of positive comments online. The ting crazy. The song is played at least four times a day on IRIE. It is on HITZ, Bess FM, Roots. It's a great look," Lady Ali said.
The song is available on a number of online platforms such as iTunes and CDbaby.com.
"I will be shooting a video for the project in Jamaica after the show," she said.
Another single, Join the Line, which she released via a video on Facebook, quickly went viral, racking up more than 200,000 views in only a few weeks.
