Gaga gives US$1m for disaster relief
Lady Gaga has donated US$1 million to relief efforts, following devastating hurricanes in the US and the Caribbean. The 31-year-old singer revealed she has made the generous donation to help those affected by the hurricanes that ripped through Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean islands in recent weeks, as well as the earthquake that struck Mexico City.
Talking via Twitter last Saturday, she wrote: "While praying every day, I'm also donating $1m to relief efforts for Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Jose, Maria and the Mexico City earthquake (sic)."
The Million Reasons hitmaker's donation means she joins a long list of celebrities who have given money to the cause, with the likes of Justin Bieber, BeyoncE, Jimmy Fallon, and Kevin Hart just some of the stars who have donated to help those affected by the natural disasters.
Fellow singer Pink has also donated US$500,000.
