Awesome Sasco ignites Pier 1
The lyrical assassin, Agent Sasco, left his mark at Appleton Estate Signature Nights at Montego Bay's Pier 1 last Thursday.
Backed by the Sound Agentz band, Agent Sasco delivered a memorable performance to the scores of patrons who attended the event despite the heavy rainfall.
Beginning his set offstage with Theory of Reggaetivity from his critically acclaimed album by the same name, the eager audience welcomed him in an eruption of cheers. Continuing with his high-energy performance, Sasco followed with fan favourites Hand Inna Di Air and Nothing At All.
Slowing the tempo and delivering from his ever-expanding repertoire of reggae music, Agent Sasco belted out a solo version of Fade Away, originally recorded by himself and Romain Virgo.
He then delved back to his dancehall roots, delivering tunes from the early 2000s, much to the enjoyment of patrons who sang along to his class tunes such as Step Pon Dem, Anywhere We Go and Pull Up.
Appleton Estate Signature Nights belonged to the artiste as audience members rocked to Sasco's extensive catalogue, from which he delivered something for everyone. It was, however, his stripped-down rendition of Something's Gotta Give, dedicated to his oldest daughter, which resonated with the audience the most.
Appleton Estate will continue its tour across the island with stops to come in Kingston and Ocho Rios. The next staging of Appleton Estate Signature Nights will be held on Thursday, November 9, at Macau in Kingston, featuring a live performance by Tanya Stephens.
