New York-based reggae singer Tom Laing is pleased with the support he's getting from his local fans. The Trench Town-born singer recently made his first major appearance on local soil when performed at the Portmore Music Fest, which was held at the UDC Car Park in Portmore on December 29.

Appearing on stage sometime after midnight he opened his set with a riveting rendition of Gregory Isaacs' Front Door.

He then rounded out his performance with several of his own hits such as King's Highway.

"I'm happy with the response that I received at the Portmore Music Fest. The people really showed me a lot of love, they knew all of my songs," said Laing. "To perform in Jamaica and get such a warm response is a dream come true. This shows that my music is making an impact at home and I am very happy about that."

Laing is currently promoting his latest single She's A Winner on the Top Tier label.

"My new single is doing very well ... the video for it was released a few weeks ago," he said.

Laing plans to take his career to the next level in 2018.

"I'm ready for the next step in my career right now. My team and I currently working on some projects that will help to take my career to the next level," he said.
