Nesta promotes new single
Guyanese singer Nesta is in Jamaica on a media tour promoting her new single, Body Callin.
"I have been wanting to come to Jamaica some time now, and I think this is the perfect time to promote my music here," she said.
The song was released in February. The music video, produced by Mark Walcott, was filmed and directed in New York by Kay Dotti and Gordon Andres.
Nesta, whose given name is Ernesta Nelson, grew up in Guyana with a music teacher mother. Her early music days were spent singing calypso and soca and entering several national competitions, where she received top prizes.
One of her biggest singles is Essence, which was used in the soundtrack for the movie Diary of a Badman.
Since being in Jamaica, she has collaborated with YGF Records on the Growth EP. She is also working on her own EP, which will involve local acts such as Tarrus Riley, Dean Fraser, Deep Jahi, and Devin Di Dakta.
