Jamaican music veterans Dr Carlene Davis, Ghost, Tanya Stephens and Louie Culture are among the acts for the 'Legends In Concert' show, scheduled for September 12 in Atlanta.

The annual event has returned after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Proceeds from the event will assist ConnectJA, a community development organisation based in Guys Hill. It is directed by Guys Hill High School alumnus Cornel Levy, who now resides in the United States. ConnectJA has donated a 40-computer media centre and has provided over 20,000 books to the school and feeder schools in the district.

"Creating job opportunities, reducing poverty, and boosting local economies through community development can help to reduce criminal activities in communities. At ConnectJA we focus on assisting children. Children are the future, so aiding in their growth and development is essential in ensuring that the community of Guys Hill stays safe," said Levy, who attended the school from 1975 to 1980. He encouraged Jamaicans "a yard and abroad' to support the concert.

"We have over 200 desktops (and) laptops ready to be shipped. Proceeds from the concert goes towards shipping and handling. These computers will not only be donated to Guys Hill High School, but to feeder schools and other schools who have asked to be recipients," said Levy.
