Fresh King to release EP
Rising dancehall artiste Fresh King is slated to release his debut album titled Versatile Cave Ute on September 7.
The Mandeville, Manchester native promises that the 20-track album will bring a melting pot of sounds to dancehall that will showcase his versatility and lyrical mastery.
"It will have a couple of collaborations with the likes of Shane O and others. My album represents everything that has shaped my life and mindset. As such, it is a must-have for anyone who appreciates good music. Me literally see death door several times and me still deh yah a dweet big," he said. Among the songs on the track listings are Skill Inna Di Game and Weh Unu Know Bout Man.
In April 2019, the entertainer, whose given name is Rohan Clearly, sustained multiple injuries in a motor vehicle accident which claimed the life of his babymother, Junique Chung. The fatal accident came just five months after he had escaped major injuries in another crash as he was driving towards his home in Manchester.
Fresh King, who is also called Lazarus because he has escaped death on numerous occasions, told THE STAR that, at the age of 17, he was lured into a death trap by a friend. He told his story, that was published in THE STAR in 2019.
He said that he was lured into a cave by persons who were trying to sacrifice him as part of a cult ritual. He was stabbed in the neck and even set ablaze. But he played dead and was stuck in the cave for three days. He was found by police after one of the persons who attacked him confessed after his family reported him missing.
