Tracking system shuts down stolen Toyota Noah
Three armed robbers who allegedly snatched a woman’s Toyota Noah in Portmore got a surprise when the vehicle’s tracking system was activated, bringing their getaway to an abrupt end.
The robbery took place about 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, in Edgewater, Portmore, St Catherine.
Reports from the police are that the woman was driving her 2016 Toyota Noah when she was approached by three men, one of whom allegedly pointed a gun at her and demanded the vehicle.
Fearing for her life, the woman reportedly got out of the motor car, allowing the men to speed away with it.
However, the vehicle’s tracking system was activated, and the Toyota Noah was disabled along Grange Lane, near High 95.
The police were contacted, and the vehicle was retrieved.
Crime Scene Investigators examined the motor car before it was towed to the Portmore police station.
Investigators from the St Catherine South Division have launched a probe into the robbery.
