Two die in vehicle mishap

Two people died as a result of injuries received in a motor vehicle accident on Main Street in Manchester yesterday, police have confirmed.

The two were killed after a car they were travelling in collided with a utility pole, the police said.

Those killed were identified as 30-year-old Randi Smith of Hampton Road, Porus, and 39-year-old Nichola Wright-Logan of Hopeton Gardens, both in Manchester.

Reports from the Mandeville police are that about 12:50 p.m., Smith was driving his motor car with Wright-Logan aboard. On reaching a section of the roadway, the police said he collided into a utility pole and the vehicle overturned.

The police said the two sustained multiple injuries and were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead.

Investigations continue, the police said.
