The death of Lance Corporal Michael Fraser has come as a shock to those who knew and loved him. Garrett Thomas said that they have been friends for such a long time. So close they were that he refers to Fraser as his brother.

"All now mi can't believe say him dead. I have no idea why someone would want to kill him" Thomas said.

A member of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) has been placed under military detention as investigators intensify their probe into Fraser's murder.

JDF Civil Military Cooperation and Media Affairs Officer Major Basil Jarrett said the soldier is under detention at the army's Up Park Camp headquarters; however, he declined to give further details.

In addition, Head of the Clarendon police, Senior Superintendent of Police Vendolyn Cameron-Powell, said that the wife of another soldier who was found at the home of Lance Corporal Fraser is being questioned.
