Expect delays on Mona Road

A section of Mona Road in St. Andrew has been reduced to single lane. The partial closure of the carriageway was effected on Tuesday, May 2, and is expected to last for two weeks.

Commuters using Mona Road in St. Andrew are being encouraged to brace for delays over the next two weeks. The National Works Agency (NWA) has reduced a section of this road, between Wellington Drive and Wallen Close, to single lane.

Stephen Shaw, manager of communication and customer services at the NWA, said the adjustment is being made to facilitate the installation of pipe culverts.

Shaw said that this activity forms part of a road and drainage rehabilitation programme that includes culvert installation and manhole construction.
