Falmouth, Trelawny, the hometown of Bob Marley's singer/actor son Ky-Mani, is to get another taste of the legendary reggae icon as a Bob Marley Museum Exhibition Hall is to be established at the historic Falmouth cruise pier.

The foundation for the new museum was laid late last week when a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Bob Marley Museum and Falmouth Jamaica Land Company Limited (FJLCL), the operators of the Falmouth cruise port.

"The Bob Marley Exhibition Hall will be a welcome addition to the historic cruise port's music and culture tour. It will bring the port significantly closer to our goal of providing cruise visitors with a journey into the life of Jamaica's musical legend the late Bob Marley," said Shellion Rhoden, FJLCL business manager.

Rhoden said the exhibition hall will focus primarily on the musical journey that took Marley from his days as a struggling young singer in the Trench Town to the lofty heights of being one of the most celebrated singers the world has ever seen.

"The hall will be displaying a variety of memories and musical instruments once owned by Bob Marley. The exhibits will be expected to be updated every two years with loaned items from The Bob Marley Museum," added Rhoden.
