Pregnant woman killed in Portland

A pregnant woman was murdered in Portland yesterday by three cowards who attacked persons who were cleaning up after a party in Orange Bay, west Portland.

Kimberley Baugh, 24, who was five months pregnant, was among the five persons who were shot in the attack. She died as a result of gunshot wounds sustained.

"There was still a group of people at the venue where the party was held carrying out cleaning-up operations, when three men appeared and started firing gunshots," Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Throyville Haughton, in Portland, said.

"Five persons were injured and rushed to hospital, but one of the persons was pronounced dead. Three were treated and released, however, one remains at hospital. We have since taken a man into custody, who we believe can assist with our investigation, " Haughton added.

The identity of the suspect is being withheld pending further investigations.
