Cop in ‘ice cream’ video back on the job
The interdicted cop who caused a social media frenzy when an unflattering video of him went viral was yesterday restored to frontline duties.
Constable Marvin Crayger was at the centre of attention after footage of him performing oral sex on a woman while still in his uniform surfaced online. He was subsequently placed on interdiction by Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson in March.
Senior Superintendent of Police Stephanie Lindsay told THE STAR that the lawman's activities could end up costing him his job and that his fate would be determined by an internal investigation by the Inspectorate and Professional Standards Oversight Bureau, the arm of the police force responsible for investigations into misconduct.
However, on Wednesday, the constable, who is assigned in Portland, posted a video of himself in his uniform while he was apparently travelling to work. Crayger, who is also married, told THE WEEKEND STAR that he sent the video to show "appreciation".
"I don't wish to comment on anything. I send out the video to show appreciation. Leave it where it is, let it rest. I don't want to rake up ants. I am just moving forward. I have nothing to say," he said.
