Jamaica will start its journey to the FIFA Under-20 World Cup by travelling to the Dominican Republic for the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Men Under-20 Championships.

The Jamaicans are drawn in Group Four, alongside host Dominican Republic, St Kitts & Nevis, and Dominica. They will open against Dominica on Wednesday, play St Kitts and Nevis on Friday, and complete group stage against Dominican Republic on Sunday.

Although the team did not play any international friendly game, assistant coach Altimont Butler is satisfied with the level of preparation.

PRACTICE GAMES

"We have not been playing international practice games but I'm satisfied with what has happened," Butler told STAR Sports ahead of the team's departure.

"We have played games against senior teams, and last Thursday defeated Maverley-Hughenden 2-0. I am happy with the shape of the team. We have been defending well and also getting few goals," he shared.

"The plan is to qualify for the World Cup, so we want to win the CFU stage first and then take it from there," the former national senior men's representative added.

Butler also said that he loves working alongside head coach Ricardo 'Bibi' Gardner.

The full squad is: Jahmali Waite, Akeem Chambers, Ajanie Talbott, Maliek Howell, Neville Morgan, Jahhanie Hammond, Fabian Grant, Jahwahni Hinds, Dashane Beckford, John Luca Levee, Kevon Lambert, Peter-Lee Vassell, Shamar Nicholson, Tyreek Magee, Nathaniel Adamolukan, Akeem Prawl, Joseph Dezat, Ky-mani Campbell, Jourdain Fletcher and Rashawn Dally.
