Maragh grabs lead at Aqueduct
QUEENS, New York (CMC):
Jamaican rider Rajiv Maragh stormed to the lead at Aqueduct on Sunday after reeling off three wins in a superb outing on the nine-race card.
The 31-year-old picked up victories in race one with favourite Third Son, in race five with 5-1 bet Big Discovery and in race six with 6-1 chance, Sol the Freud.
Maragh narrowly missed out on a five-timer when he finished a close second in two other races.
He was half-length behind winner Papa Shot in race seven aboard 21-1 outsider Zabaione and finished second by a neck with 6-1 bet Disco Chick, as 3-1 chance Takrees took the win in race eight.
With the success, Maragh climbed to 14 wins, one clear of previous leader Kendrick Carmouche, in the season which began New Year's Day.
