Veteran Jamaican jockey Andrew Ramgeet rode a double at Turf Paradise on Tuesday, to stay in touch with leader Scott Stevens at the south-western United States racing venue.

Riding on the eight-race card, Ramgeet paired with 5-1 chance PLEASE BE ME to win race three over six furlongs and returned in the day's final race to score with favourite CORSA DI CAVALLI in a six-and-a-half furlong trip.

Ramgeet lies second in the jockey standings on 60, just two adrift of Stevens in the campaign which wraps up May 7.

Seeking to improve on this third place finish in the championship last season, Ramgeet continued his rich form when he steered four-year-old gelding PLEASE BE ME to two-length victory over the four-year-old and upwards.

The pair forced the pace set by RISKY VENTURE as the race reached the quarter in 23.50 seconds and the half in 46.27. A duelled ensued in the stretch but Ramgeet slowly got PLEASE BE ME to edge away and take the wire strongly.

In race eight, Ramgeet combined with eight-year-old chestnut gelding CORSA DI CAVALLI to nip the four-year-old and upward by one-and-a-half lengths.

They raced off the pace as PROVABLE and JOE DUNK In battled for the lead before coming to challenge on the turn, sparking a heated duel with Provable.

Ramgeet and CORSA DI CAVALLI got the front, passing the sixteenth pole, and pulled away gradually.
