PHOENIX, Arizona, CMC:

Jamaican Andrew Ramgeet took the lead at Turf Paradise here Tuesday when he rode a double on the eight-race card at the southwestern United States racetrack.

The veteran rider captured race three with 3-1 Genesee Street and returned in race seven to win with 2-1 bet Aparri, to steal his share of the headlines.

Ramgeet now tops the standings with 65 wins, just one ahead of Scott Stevens who has led in recent weeks.

David Lopez lies 12 back in third on 52 wins.

Ramgeet reached the winners enclosure for the first time when he combined with four-year-old bay filly Genesee Street to trounce the four-year-old and upward fillies and mares by 7-1/2 lengths.
