Jamaican jockeys Dane Nelson and Shamaree Muir were among the winners at Northlands Park on Saturday as Caribbean riders won all eight races on the day's card.

Nelson, a three-time champion at Caymanas Park, Jamaica, took race one with 5-1 chance O'Maggi to be five winners behind champion Barbadian Rico Walcott, who captured the CAN$50,000 Journal Handicap with 2-1 chance Annie's Candy and also won race four with favourite Last Flight, pushing him to 14 wins for the new season.

Nelson's countryman, Shamaree Muir, captured race three with 9-1 outsider Beardini.

Six-time reigning champion Walcott and Keishan Balgobin took the honours by winning the two feature events,

Trinidadian Balgobin, meanwhile, stole the $50,000 Western Canada Handicap, pairing with 3-1 bet Trooper John to edge the three-year-olds by half length in a time of 1:10.10.
