EDMONTON, Canada, CMC - Jamaican riding star Shamaree Muir gave trainer Jennifer Hunt her maiden added-money success at Northlands Park here Saturday by producing a narrow score aboard 5-1 chance Emma Jean in the CAN$60,878 Princess Margaret Stakes.

The 22-year-old combined with the bay filly to beat the two-year-old fillies in a time of one minute, 14.15 seconds, going six furlongs.

Muir was last through the quarter run in 22.97 seconds as 3-1 chance Street Made, with six-time reigning champion Rico Walcott aboard, made the early running.

In the stretch, Street Made still had control with Future State, ridden by veteran multiple-time former champion Quincy Welch closing quickly.

However, Muir staged the dramatic upset when he brought Emma Jean with a thundering run to win on the head bob, nipping Future State at the wire.
