Jamaican Chadwick Walton could become the leading scorer in the Caribbean Premier League tonight if he performs with the bat when the Guyana Amazon Warriors play Jamaica Tallawahs in their latest game tonight.

Walton, who plays for the Warriors, is currently on 298 runs, 11 behind Brendon McCullum of the Trinbago Knight Riders, who has made 309 runs so far. He is one run behind fellow Jamaican, Chris Gayle, who failed with the bat for the St Kitts Patriots in a loss to the Tallawahs on Wednesday night.

The Jamaican Walton has scored no centuries, but has two 50s so far in the 2017 competition.

Jason Mohammad of the Amazon Warriors is fifth in the batting standings with 275 runs from his nine matches so far.

Jamaica Tallawahs players Andre McCarthy and Kumar Sangakkara are both in the top 10 of the batsmen. McCarthy had scored 232 runs from eight matches, while Sangakkara has scored 215 runs from eight matches.

Jamaica Tallawahs' Kesrick Williams has taken the most wickets (14) in the competition. The Amazon Warriors' Sohail Tanvir (13) and Rayad Emrit (11) are the next best.
