Montella set for Sevilla move

December 29, 2017

Spanish club Sevilla announced that Italian Vincenzo Montella will become their new Coach once his contract with AC Milan is terminated.

A statement on Sevilla's official website confirmed that Montella has agreed a deal to join the La Liga outfit until 2019 with the Italian tactician expected to sign a contract today.

Montella was reportedly at AC Milan's head office yesterday to finalise the termination of his contract with the Rossoneri ahead of his move to Spain.

He is then likely to hold his first training session with Sevilla tomorrow morning before being introduced to the Press.

Montella was a key player for AS Roma, scoring 84 goals in 194 appearances, which spanned a decade. He earned his coaching stripes at Catania before impressing on the Fiorentina bench.

He then moved to Sampdoria, where he stayed for a year and was given his big shot at the San Siro in 2016. After a somewhat promising first season where the Milan club won the Italian Super Cup, he, however, failed to return them to their former glory and was removed earlier this season after a string of poor results followed a free-spending offseason.
