Harbour View Striker Ready to score more Goals
Harbour View FC striker, Deshane Beckford, is hoping to find his prolific goal scoring form in the playoffs after the team's dismal showing in that department in the regular season of the Red Stripe Premier League.
Harbour View managed a meagre 28 goals from 33 games throughout the regular season with only the last three placed teams to have scored fewer goals.
Beckford, who scored his team's lone goal in the winner against Portmore United to clinch the playoffs spot, said he has taken it up on himself to deliver the goals for his team in the post-season.
"My job is to produce goals for my team and that is what I will be doing," Beckford told Star Sports. "I scored the winning goal in the Portmore game so I am feeling really confident right now."
The 19 year old, who played for Rusea's High School and will be playing in the playoffs for the first time, pointed out that his team's effort to improve their goal scoring rate won't affect their outstanding performance in the defence this season.
"We want to score more goals but we are not worried about it also because we know that we good in defence and if we get one or two goals that should be good enough," Beckford, who scored only two goals this season, said.
Harbour View will expected to take on Waterhouse FC in their first match on Easter Monday at Compound.
