Meadforest, New Kingston to clash at Spring

The Constant Spring Field will be buzzing with excitement this evening with the playing of the quarterfinal matches in the Magnum KSAFA Major League competition.

In the opening game of the double-header, Seaview Gardens will oppose Cooreville Gardens at 6:30 p.m. while New Kingston will tackle Meadforest in the feature match at 8:30 p.m.

Conrod Hepburn, manager of Meadforest, whose team has been playing well this season, said they are expecting a tough game from their opponents.

"We are going there with the expectations to win, but we don't think it is going to be an easy match because New Kingston have a good side," said Hepburn.

"However, we have an equally good side too and my players have worked very hard this season and they are really looking forward to this match," Hepburn said.

"We have spoken to the players in training and we told them if they stick to the training that we have been given them coming up to this point then, we will be victorious," he said.

Meadforest will be depending heavily former national player Steve Green, along with the likes of Omari Edwards and Nigel Reid to lead their charge to victory.

On the hand, Andrew Minott, manager of New Kingston, said his team is very upbeat ahead of today's contest.

"We are very confident because we have been working hard, so we just have to go out and deal with it," said Minott.

"Our preparations have been very good, but one of our main strikers is carrying an injury, but we have other alternatives that can fill the void for us," he said.

New Kingston will rest their hopes in the hands of Demani Morris, Andre Reid and Karim Hawes to lead them to victory.
