Can't decide which man I want
Dear Pastor,
Good day to you and your staff. I am 19 years old and I have had an experience that I would love to relate to you. I hope that you can see my side of the story. I have two boyfriends.
One is my age and the other is 25 years old. I love the both of them, but the 25-year-old one is living with his babymother.
There is noting that I ask him for that he doesn't try to give to me. The 19-year-old is working with his dad.
Whenever I want something from him, I always have to wait until his dad gives him money, and sometimes his dad doesn't pay him on time. He grew up in the Church, so he goes to church every Sunday.
Although I am 19, I have experience because I started to have sex when I was underage. I had to force my 19-year-old boyfriend to have sex with me.
The first time we went out
together, one of his friends gave me his card and asked me to call him. When I called him, he told me I should leave my boyfriend because he can do more for me. I told him no.
The other guy who is living with his babymother wants to leave her and for me to come and live with him. I don't know what to do because I don't want my 19-year-old boyfriend to know that I am keeping another man with him, because I like his family.
They are decent people and his father told me that they are going to migrate and if we get married, I could end up living in the US with them.
I come from a poor family and I would like to get the experience to travel. Help me to make up my mind, pastor.
F.W.
Dear F.W.,
You are 19 years old and you have been sexually active from a tender age. You mentioned what age you were when you first had sex, but I have deleted that.
You seem to be very proud that you know how to get around men, but I am afraid that if you continue to act as if you can manipulate men, you will meet your match, so to speak, and they would abuse you.
This man who is 25 years old and is living with his child's mother is giving you material things, and so you see him as a good man to have.
The 19-year-old young man is only trying. He doesn't know that you are not a very good girl and his father thinks that both of you should get along well because you are the same age.
I suggest, therefore, that you make up your mind about what type of girl you wish to be. You have made mistakes and you can't rewrite the past, but you can be determined to do better.
My suggestion, therefore, is to end the
relationship with the older man and try to develop a better relationship with the younger man. And please, try your best to get an education.
Pastor
