UTech Brand Fair a success!
The University of Technology Marketing Seminar recently hosted its annual Brand Fair on the lawns of the Calvin McKain Library on campus under the theme 'Brand Jamaica'.
The event surrounded the showcasing of different products and services. It was a great success. Project leader Kadean Thomas said: "The turnout for the Brand Fair far surpassed my expectations. My team and I worked really hard on the event, and to have over 700 patrons throughout the day was incredible."
The Brand Fair aimed to increase awareness of several Jamaican brands, as well as to reintroduce the idea of building Jamaica through buying Jamaican. Additionally, the fair aimed to strengthen relationships between corporate Jamaica and marketing students.
Several company booths were on display, inclusive of GraceKennedy Limited, Lasco iCool, Jamaica Biscuit Company, Cashwiz, Bad Dawg and Coca-Cola, to name a few. Students also engaged in several games that were rewarded with gift baskets and cash prizes from different companies.
Thomas further added: "The reviews from patrons and company representatives were overwhelming, the aim of the event was definitely met, patrons were entertained, and they did learn to appreciate Brand Jamaica."
The Marketing Seminar was established in 1982 and has been the first and longest-operating student-led seminar. The seminar provides undergraduates with the opportunity to propose, coordinate and execute marketing-centred events and activities.
Additionally, it provides students with practical marketing experience needed to become marketing professionals. For queries, persons can email firstname.lastname@example.org.
