Two men gunned down in separate St Catherine shootings

St Catherine investigators are probing the fatal shootings of two men within 90 minutes of each other in separate incidents across Spanish Town last night.

The victims, both reportedly labourers, have not yet been positively identified by police and are known only by the aliases ‘Yankee’ and ‘Chucky’.

Police reports are that about 8:30 p.m., ‘Chucky’ was standing at 84 St John’s Road when he was approached by a gunman.

The attacker allegedly opened fire, hitting Chucky several times.

He was assisted to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

About 90 minutes later, around 9:50 p.m., ‘Yankee’ was reportedly walking home along Old Harbour Road, Spanish Town, when he was attacked.

According to police, upon reaching 23 Old Harbour Road, Yankee was allegedly pounced upon by a gunman who had been lurking on a premises.

The gunman reportedly shot him several times before fleeing the area.

Yankee was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The motive for either attack has not yet been established.

The Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch is investigating both killings.
