Jamaican ex-soldier and ex-wife found dead In Georgia home

A former Jamaican soldier and his 25-year-old ex-wife were found dead inside a Georgia apartment in the United States on Monday, leaving police investigating what they describe as a possible domestic incident.

The deceased have been identified as 25-year-old Jamaican Leon Anthony Myers and 25-year-old Celeste Cyan Morgan, who lived at the Camelia Apartments on Altama Avenue in Glynn County.

Myers, a former Jamaica Defence Force soldier, was originally from Brandon Hill on the St Andrew/St Mary border.

According to the Glynn County Police Department, officers discovered the bodies while conducting a welfare check at the apartment.

Media reports said officers went to the Camelia Apartments just after 4 p.m. Monday to conduct the check and encountered what police described as “exigent circumstances”, prompting them to enter the apartment.

Once inside, officers found Myers and Morgan dead.

“The deceased were previously married to each other, and the incident appears to have been domestic in nature,” the police department said.

Police also said they believe there is no threat to residents of the Camelia Apartments or the surrounding area.

The causes of death have not yet been officially determined.

Autopsies are being conducted as police continue their investigation.
