Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chang took to social media on Tuesday to announce the birth of their first child.

With a picture of the two holding their new-born, Zuckerberg penned an open letter to his first child, named Max, and also promised to overtime, donate to charity, nearly all the profits made from Facebook shares.

This announcement has pleasantly surprised the whole world as Zuckerberg told his daughter that he wants her to "grow up in a world better than ours today."

"Our initial areas of focus will be personalized learning, curing disease, connecting people and building strong communities," the post reads.

"We will give 99% of our Facebook shares -- currently about $45 billion -- during our lives to advance this mission."

Zuckerberg's post has already racked up 279,360 likes and 24,999 shares on Facebook.
