Agent Sasco for Guardian 5K after race lyme
Dancehall artiste Jeffery Campbell, better known as Agent Sasco (previously Assassin), is set to perform at the Kingston after-race lyme of the Guardian Group Foundation's Keep It Alive 5K Night Run next Saturday.
This year will mark the foundation's fifth staging of the event in Kingston and the fourth in Montego Bay, which is scheduled for Saturday, June 2.
The Winning Now crooner has, in recent times, been making a splash in American mainstream hip hop with his 2013 feature on I'm In It by recording artiste Kanye West and his 2015 feature on The Blacker The Berry by rapper Kendrick Lamar.
The latter was certified gold after selling over 500,000 copies. Sasco was also featured during Kendrick's Grammy performance of the hit.
After the 5K, patrons can look forward to being treated to a wide variety of hits from his repertoire, including one of his newest singles, Stronger, from his album, The Theory of Reggaetivity.
Past performers have included Coco Tea, Sizzla, Ding Dong and Beenie Man.
Since the inception of the races, the foundation has donated over $57 million to several beneficiaries, with close to 30,000 persons participating.
Beneficiaries of the 2018 races will be the University Hospital of the West Indies, as well as the Mandeville, St Ann's Bay and Cornwall regional hospitals.
Proceeds from the races are used to purchase much-needed equipment for the hospitals.
Persons are encouraged to register by going online at www.KeepItAlive5k.com or visiting any Guardian Life Limited and Guardian General Jamaica Limited branch office or the benefiting hospitals.
The artiste for the Montego Bay leg is to be announced.
