‘I Am The World Singer’ - Jah Vinci makes big statement in debut EP

A lack of activity in the entertainment industry, due to COVID-19, caused Jah Vinci to scale back on some of his plans for 2020. However, the Watch Your Friends singer has big plans for 2021, and he sees the release his debut EP, scheduled for this weekend, as the launching pad for his big agenda.

"People been a ask for an album or a body of work from me, and we decide say the time's right now. This is like six or seven songs dropping one time, and my aim is to end 2020 with a bang so I go into the New Year with a bang," he said.

Jah Vinci said that the EP, I Am The World Singer, will be released on Friday, and "it's sort of like my gift to the fans". The compilation is being released by Notnice Records, which is headed by Jah Vinci's longtime friend, producer Ainsley 'NotNice' Morris.

Christmas Gift

"We wanted it to be one of Jah Vinci's best work and so we mixed the songs, listened to them, go back and do over weh did need to do over etc. and everything is a go right now. And so we thought, why not just drop it and make it be a gift to the people inna the Christmas yah," Jah Vinci told THE STAR

The In My Life singer said that the project does not involve any collaboration, stating that: "This is Jah Vinci making a statement, just me making my voice be heard."

"I have been working on it in the midst of this COVID thing because I have really been focusing on my career and making some more hits," he said. "It's not about rebranding because I am pressing on this journey of being a singer and doing the work. A still Jah Vinci weh give you hits like Watch Your Friends and Oh Jah Jah, but most of the tracks on it a things weh listeners nuh used to. Dem used to Jah Vinci going hardcore, but the songs on the EP will be something refreshing to the ears."

Meanwhile, Jah Vinci said he is ready to go into 2021 with a 'bang' and believes the EP can do just that for him. "This is definitely the project that will put Jah Vinci back on the map. I have strong belief in that because as me say the songs dem sound refreshing to the ears," he said.

Assessing his career thus far, Jah Vinci said that he has made some mistakes but the fact that he is working with NotNice should help him turn things around.

"I was voicing for friends, giving a man a strength and nah realise say that wouldn't make no sense inna the long run for me and my career," he said.

"Now I am more aware of what I need to do for my career to make things better for me and Notnice have all that together. Since I started working with him, I see that he knows how to get things done on a different level because he knows the game and that is what I need right now."
