Outta Space Records teams with Silk Boss

Sanjay 'Steel Chest' Norman of Outta Space Records has scored another major collaboration, this time with fast-rising dancehall deejay Silk Boss for the single Repent.

The track, which was released on October 30, is already on its way to 500,000 views on YouTube and landed the number-nine spot on the platform's trending list.

According to Steel Chest, the single speaks to the number of adversities the deejay has encountered this year and his determination.

He said that since he had contacted the deejay a little over a year ago, they have developed a strong work chemistry that has paved the way for future works.

"I reached out to the Silk in August of 2021 to put in some work. From then we never look back, work in overdrive from then," he said, adding that he hopes the song reaches global charts.

The Mandeville, Manchester native has been in the business for 10 years and has worked with a slew of other acts producing many dancehall favourites like Verified Choppa and Top Coote by Marksman and Bwoii Affi by 1Biggs Don.

In the meantime, Steel Chest is hailing Silk Boss for the influence he has had on dancehall since his big break.

"There is a worldwide outcry of greatness when he's compared to some of dancehall and reggae legends because of the impact he has in the industry," he said.

The producer added that there are several other projects in the works as he keeps his eyes set on the Grammys.
