Mavado plots grand ‘Return’ in New York - Alkaline and 450 to perform alongside Gully Gad
Dancehall superstar Mavado is slated to return to New York, USA, for his annual birthday celebration in the form of a concert on December 10.
In addition to Mavado, patrons will be treated to performances from some of the genres hottest commodities, namely the Vendetta boss Alkaline, Journey hitmaker 450, and hip hop artiste and reality star Sukihana.
Deno Crazy will host the event, which will be held at Amazura Night Club.
Dubbed as 'The Return', the highly anticipated concert is sparking a lot of buzz in and around the tri-state area as Mavado, also called Gully Gad, has not performed in New York for three years.
"The pandemic and COVID really did slow things down in the concert arena. Nuff shows were placed on hold, people out of work and nuff people just never a come out. But nothing happens before the time. New York, I will be there in live and living colour along with a few friends to celebrate life and my fans," Mavado said.
Mavado, whose given name is David Brooks, has an extensive catalogue of hits sons, including Delilah, Real McKoy, Weh Dem A Do, and recent billboard chart topping hit, Blessed, featuring Afrobeats artiste Kid.
