Hush delivers a night of style

Hush was more than a party. For one night, the Portmore Mall taxi stand became a runway, dance floor and meeting place, as patrons turned up in their finest all-white looks.

Under the brightly lit streetlights, the usual taxi stand took on a different character. White outfits dominated the scene, from sleek dresses and coordinated sets to carefully styled hair and make-up. Confidence was everywhere.

The music moved easily between dancehall, Afrobeats and old-school favourites, with selectors Badda Bling, Bumpy Cash and others keeping the energy high. Their sets leaned heavily into the kind of songs that had the women moving, and the crowd responded with whines, spins and back-it-ups.

The women, in particular, seemed determined to make the most of the night. Many arrived dressed to be noticed, while others simply settled into the music and let the atmosphere take over.

The men were there for the party, too, but much of the attention belonged to the women, who filled the dance floor and appeared thoroughly at ease in the spotlight.

Drinks flowed, laughter carried through the venue, and taxis continued to come and go around the party, adding to the distinctly Portmore backdrop.
