Renigad and wife Camara Stewart-Williams are showered with blessings.

There’s no better time than the present, and dancehall entertainer ReniGAD is holding firm to that philosophy after saying ‘I do’ to his long-time partner, Camara Stewart.

Speaking with THE WEEKEND STAR following the announcement, ReniGAD said the decision to get married was not one he took lightly. It came after reaching a point where the timing, relationship and commitment all felt right, and he could not be happier.

“I am feeling really good about it. You know how it go when you spend time out in the world, it’s a good feeling when you find somebody you can lock in with. So now just felt like the right time to make it official,” the entertainer explained.

The artiste, whose given name is Carlton Williams, shared news of the marriage earlier this week via his official Instagram account. After years of getting fans moving on the dance floor, ReniGAD traded the stage for the altar, taking the next step in a relationship that has endured several chapters of his life and career.

“We a man, enuh, and we reach a point where we wah some peace inna we life. And, the person that grant you peace should be the person you value the most in this world,” he added.

While fans have become familiar with ReniGAD through his energetic personality and catalogue of dancehall hits, the artiste has traditionally kept much of his personal life away from the spotlight. His wedding therefore offered supporters a rare glimpse at the man behind the music.

And after years of navigating the highs and lows of the entertainment industry, ReniGAD said his relationship has provided an important source of stability.

“We have two kids together – and that family stability means a lot to me. On top of that, she is also in the music industry. She is a backup vocalist performing on the biggest stages around the world. So she understands my work and my world and just plays such a special role in all of that,” ReniGAD said.

ReniGad rose to prominence as one half of dancehall duo RDX, which became synonymous with dance and party anthems including Dancers AnthemBend OvaJump and Kotch. Following the split of the group, he embarked on a solo career, continuing to release music and build his GAD People brand.

“Thankfully, I have a lot of songs out there now that are doing their own thing and building the brand and reputation even more, and I really have to give thanks for that. Even now, I have one of the biggest songs in the dancehall space, Circle Dem, with Shelly Belly the dancer, and that has been doing big things,” ReniGad said.

“Right now, we are planning a major tour in Europe, and that’s another major step for me,” he added.

Between the new music, his upcoming tour and now his nuptials, the entertainer who has spent much of his career providing the soundtrack for parties, dancing and good times, now has another reason to celebrate.
