Gospel stars set to light up Emancipation Park
Some of Jamaica’s best known gospel performers are set to take centre stage at Emancipation Park on Friday, when the Credit Unions of Jamaica (CUJ) hosts the fourth staging of its annual Praise in the Park concert.
Leading the line-up are gospel favourites Jai Kingston, Rhoda Isabella and Sebastian Braham, alongside Chantal Smalling Stephenson, the 2026 JCDC Gospel Star winner.
The evening’s programme will also feature Nickette Morgan-Williams and Raheem Wellington, who will lead patrons in praise and worship.
The free concert, which closes out Credit Union Week 2026, is expected to attract families, church groups and gospel music lovers for an evening of inspirational music and fellowship.
Organisers say patrons can look forward to a mixture of contemporary gospel, worship music and crowd favourites from some of the island’s most celebrated gospel acts.
The festivities will begin with a pre-show at 5:30 p.m., before the main concert gets under way at 6 p.m. The event forms part of activities marking National Credit Union Week under the theme, ‘Cooperative Finance: A Steady Signal in a Noisy World’.
Katrina Grant, group marketing and communication manager at the Jamaica Co-operative Credit Union League, said the event offers an opportunity to connect with Jamaicans beyond financial services.
“Praise in the Park has grown into a special occasion for the Credit Union Movement because it gives us an opportunity to connect with Jamaicans in a different way. We want families, friends and communities to come together for an uplifting evening of music and fellowship, while celebrating the spirit of unity and togetherness that defines our movement,” Grant said.
