Losing more weight from simple changes
Weight loss has become one of the most popular fitness goals over the last 25 years. More and more people are unsatisfied with their appearance and realise the importance between a healthy lifestyle and staying trim.
In Jamaica, many of us tend to eat too much of the wrong foods at the wrong time of day. This causes us to gain unnecessary weight. Taking on too much starch is a common issue across the board.
Foods high in starch include rice, ground provision and bread. A typical Jamaican breakfast includes a few slices of bread or various hard-food options. The problem with this is that starch is like fuel, if we aren't using it, we need not to consume so much of it. A rule I would suggest is not eating any carbohydrates (starch) until after you have done some kind of exercise for the day or only consuming a meal with starch after the highest point of activity during the day. The philosophy is, you have to earn your starches.
Another simple option to assist with weight loss is more walking on a daily basis. Instead of driving or getting transport to locations under a mile, just walk. Walking is a great aerobic exercise which burns a lot of fat, if done regularly for at least 40 minutes per day. Walking also doesn't put as much impact on your joints, so it makes it less stressful on the body.
