Man fined after beating baby-mother with metal pipe
A man was fined $15,000 in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s court a short while ago after pleading guilty to hitting the mother of his child across her back with a pipe metal.
Charged with assault is David Mitchell.
He pleaded guilty to the offence then told Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey that he hit the complainant because she showed up at his workplace and left the baby.
Mitchell said, “Your honour she come a mi workplace and leave the baby… I went to talk to her and tell her she can’t do that and she began to walk away then we started to fight.”
Mitchell was fingerprinted and fined $15,000 or six months imprisonment.
