Digicel adds online element to Christmas promotion

Digicel has added a new online element to its 'Merry Millions' Christmas promotion, which will give one lucky social-media fan the chance to become a #SocialMillionaire on Christmas Day.

With the launch of its social media-based '25 Days of Christmas' Challenge, customers will be able to vie for a $1M cash prize by completing various daily challenges hosted on www.socialmillionaireja.com.

Participants will play for points by completing up to three challenges daily. These will include Digicel and Christmas-themed trivia, as well as other festive activities.

Marketing Director at Digicel Peter Lloyd noted, "With over 700,000 local social-media fans interacting with us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, these have become significant platforms for us to engage our customers. So we saw it fit to extend our 'Merry Millions' Christmas promotion to social media, and for the first time ever, give someone the chance to win big, just by having fun while using the same social-media sites they enjoy every day."

The challenge, which started on December 1, will run for 25 days. In order to participate, players must be a valid Digicel customer and follow Digicel Jamaica on at least two of its social-media pages. Each player can earn up to a maximum of 100 points per day, plus bonus points if they share the completed challenges on their own social-media pages.

In addition to the $1M cash prize, customers will also be able to win a share of over 5,500 daily and weekly prizes, including Digicel's new DL910 smartphone, data plans and credit. Customers can text 'social' to 136 for free to get more information on the challenge.
