St Ann crash claims two lives
Staff at the luxurious Gran BahIa PrIncipe Hotel were again plunged into mourning following an accident along the Mammee Bay/Dunn's River main road in St Ann shortly before midnight on Tuesday, which claimed the lives of two staff members.
Shanique Gray, 24, of Oracabessa, St Mary, and 23-year-old Jody-Ann Duncan of Exchange District in Ocho Rios, St Ann, died as a result of injuries sustained during the collision.
Duncan was a waitress, and Gray worked in the kitchen.
Up to press time last night, THE STAR was told that investigations were ongoing to determine what charges, if any, could be laid.
Information reaching THE STAR is that a Toyota Coaster bus with hotel staff aboard crashed into a parked truck.
The driver of the bus and about eight other staff members were rushed to hospital, where they were treated and released.
THE STAR gathered that grief counselling is being arranged for the hotel staff, especially persons in the departments that Duncan and Gray functioned.
Meanwhile, in June, four employees from the Gran Bahia Principe Hotel perished from a collision along the Landovery main road.
